Yeah...I know people that don't use comcast just because of the ports they block under residential.

Yes, comcast resembles the aftermath of a hot dog eating contest followed by 4 quarts of consumed prune juice.

In Seattle, competition is shitty. Qwest does have DSL, but they also cap their downloads to 250GB a month like comcast, but they just don't explicitly state that (like the good ol' comcast days). Good luck with them.

And Version FiOS is only availble up north outside of the main core of Seattle. Clearwire isn't much of an option either.

It must just be other states that comcast does that xfer limit crap.

I used Comcast for over a decade and easily transferred about 1 TB a month just seeding the heck out of torrents.

They don't filter any ports here either.

I've used Comcast in 3 different parts of VA.

FiOS is epic.

I have 50Mbit down 20Mbit up.

Pay $180 a month for it.

....

Btw... if you have 87978234 people in the house, spending more for internet shouldn't be a big deal.

Also, buy a load balancing router and get 2 DSLs.

That will at least make up for some of your speed loss. Also you'll have 500G of total xfer instead of 250.

You shoulda picked up a second cable modem when you went over the first time, and then you'd have had 500G of transfer there too :)

Plus you'd have 2x fast cable modem instead of dsl-suck

16 Mb down and 2mb up + phone + basic business TV = 149 bucks a month. Not too bad, if you ask me.

If you want to downgrade to the 6mb down, 1mb up internet, it's 99 a month.

Expanded Cable w/ a HD/DVR receiver and standard receiver
Telephone service
Internet w/ 25Mbps down & 5Mbps up
$159/month w/ COX

I was impressed. The COX package saved me money over going with COX Internet, Qwest telephone, and DirecTV.. even after upgrading my connection speed.

The install guys even did a good job, running a cable through the attic and down the side to get a connector in a new room. When DirecTV installed their dish they ran 3 fucking huge cables around the interior of my living room. Lazy fucks.
